Dr. Mao-wen Weng, Manager of Clinical and Research Programs

Dr. Weng manages the clinical and research programs at PurpleSun, which supports the execution of PurpleSun’s research and clinical strategy.

Dr. Weng has a toxicology background in areas of clinical research and molecular oncology related to hospital-associated infection. Previously he was senior scientist of NYU Medical Center of New York, during which he established an impressive publication record in several peer-review journals. He has first-authored numerous articles on environmental carcinogen related DNA damage/repair, cigarette-related disease and tumor, and clinical cancer research.

He has been invited as a speaker at several national conferences and universities, and is a full member of SIGMA XI, The Scientific Research Society and Society of Toxicology.

Dr. Weng is a graduate Chung-Shan Medical University, Institute of Toxicology, where he earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Toxicology and was recipient of the best youth scientist Scholarship from the Taichung City government, and graduated in top 1% of his class. He also has a Master of Science and Toxicology and a B.S. in Medical Technology from Chung-Shan Medical University, Institute of Toxicology.
